Lofotr Vikingmuseum is a History Museum at Prestegårdsveien 59, 8360 Bøstad, Norway

The Lofotr Viking Museum is a history museum in the village of Borg, near Bøstad on the island of Vestvågøy in Lofoten. It is built around the archaeological excavation of a Viking chieftain’s seat, the largest such longhouse yet found in the Norse world. A full reconstruction of the 83-metre longhouse stands on the site, furnished as it might have been, with a working smithy, a replica ship and staff in period dress through the season. The museum is part of the Museum Nord consortium. It sits amid open farmland, and on clear winter nights the surrounding fields give a wide, dark view of the northern lights over the reconstructed hall.

  • Awesome Viking building. Very large and very decorated. You can even put a armored shirt on and get a cool picture. The ship is ok but you have to walk 1.3km downhill to get there.
