Torvdalshalsen is a scenic lookout and roadside rest area on a hilltop south of Torvdalsvatnet lake, near Bøstad on the island of Vestvågøy in Lofoten. It is one of the best vantage points on the island, with a long view over rolling farmland toward the reconstructed longhouse of the Lofotr Viking Museum at Borg. A curved timber screen with benches catches the sun and shelters travellers from wind and rain, a quiet spot to stop for a meal and the view. Its open outlook and easy roadside access also make it a good place to pull in for the northern lights on dark winter nights. The surrounding fields stay green through the short summer, while snow settles over the farmland for much of the rest of the year.
