Frostfjellet is a Mountain at 8020, Norway

Frostfjellet is a low mountain in Nordland, in northern Norway, in the hills inland of the coastal city of Bodø. It is walkers’ country. Marked trails climb through birch and open heath to a rounded, rocky top, a modest ascent by Norwegian standards but rewarded with wide views over the fjords, islands and jagged peaks that ring the region. In summer the slopes are green and boggy underfoot; through the long winter they lie deep in snow, crossed by ski and snowshoe tracks. Sitting just north of the Arctic Circle at around 67°N, Frostfjellet lies well within the auroral zone. Climb a little way from the lights of Bodø on a clear, cold night, and its open summit and dark horizon make a fine place to watch the northern lights over the surrounding fells.
