Nuolja Offpist is a Ski Resort and Area in Abisko, Sweden
Nuolja Offpist is the off-piste ski area on Mount Nuolja, above Abisko on the northern edge of the national park. This is no groomed resort. It is backcountry terrain served by the chairlift from the Abisko station, giving skiers and boarders quick access to open, ungroomed descents through birch forest and down the treeless upper fells. The lines suit confident off-piste skiers and ski tourers, with deep snow, long natural runs and sweeping views over Torneträsk. The season stretches deep into spring, when the far north still holds good snow under fast-lengthening days. Those same slopes are a fine aurora perch, within the clear skies of the Abisko blue hole at around 68°N. On dark winter days the lifts and runs double as a vantage point, the northern lights wheeling over the fells and the frozen lake below.

The aurora season here runs from September to March, with the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights in October, February and March.
