Björkliden Fjällby is a mountain resort village in Swedish Lapland, set high above Lake Torneträsk with the iconic Lapporten pass in view across the water. A ski resort in winter and a walking base in summer, it offers lodges, cabins and a hotel among the fells, with pistes and off-piste terrain on the slopes above and the Kungsleden trail close by. At around 68°N, deep in the auroral zone and blessed with the same clear skies that make neighbouring Abisko famous, it is a superb place to watch the northern lights on a dark winter night.
