Lapporten is a Mountain at 981 93 Abisko, Sweden

Lapporten, the Lapland Gate, is the most iconic natural landmark in Swedish Lapland. Its Sámi name, Čuonjávággi, means the Valley of the Geese. The strikingly symmetrical U-shaped valley is cut between two flat-topped mountains on the southern side of Torneträsk, a trough carved by glaciers during the last ice age. That clean, gate-like profile has guided travellers and reindeer-herding Sámi for generations, and it serves as an unofficial symbol of the region. It is best admired from a distance, framed across the water from Abisko and Björkliden, though hikers can walk up into the valley itself. The twin summits rise well over a thousand metres and glow in the low sun of the shoulder seasons. When the aurora comes, at around 68°N in the clear skies of the Abisko blue hole, it often arcs directly above the great gate, a sight that draws photographers from around the world.
