Havets Moder is a Monument in Nuuk, Greenland

Havets Moder, the Mother of the Sea, is a sculpture on the rocks by the shore in Nuuk, drawn from one of the most important figures in Inuit mythology. The legend tells of a woman who sank to the bottom of the sea and became the mother of all its creatures, holding the fate of hunters in her hands. Set against the water and mountains, the artwork is a striking expression of Greenlandic culture and its deep bond with the sea.
