Fossálar is a Waterfall at 880 Skaftárhreppur, Iceland

Fossálar is a pretty waterfall just off the Ring Road in the south of Iceland, west of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The river spills in gentle, braided strands over a low, mossy rock face into a shallow pool, an easy and peaceful stop close to the main road. Quieter than the big-name falls of the south coast, it rewards those who pause with a tranquil scene amid the green and lava country.
