Roald Amundsensplass is a Park at Kirkegata, 9008 Tromsø, Norway

Roald Amundsensplass is a small square by the harbour in central Tromsø, named for the polar explorer Roald Amundsen. A statue of him stands here, looking out over the water. It was from Tromsø that Amundsen set off on his final journey in 1928, a flight to search for a lost expedition in the Arctic from which he never returned. The open square faces the sound and the mountains beyond.
