Norðurlandahúsið is a Performing Arts Venue at Norðari Ringvegur, Tórshavn, Faroe Islands

The Nordic House is Tórshavn's leading cultural centre, a forum for Faroese and wider Nordic art on Norðari Ringvegur. Its programme runs the full breadth of contemporary culture, from concerts, theatre and dance to exhibitions, film screenings and literary events. Housed in a low, grass-roofed building that seems to grow out of the surrounding hillside, it was designed to blend Nordic materials with the Faroese landscape. A café serves homemade organic food, and the house doubles as a gathering place for the whole city.

The aurora season here runs from October to March, with the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights in November and February. Norðurlandahúsið is a great way to spend an evening if the aurora forecast isn’t looking promising.
