Lapinkylä is a reindeer farm near Levi, and rather more besides, with a restaurant and café, hotel rooms, a smoke sauna and a range of activities all on site. The friendly reindeer are the heart of it, and a visit is a chance to meet them up close, learn a little about how the farm works and settle into a sleigh for a ride. It leans happily into the Christmas legend, the reindeer being the very ones said to take to the skies with Santa on Christmas Eve. The farm sits at around 68°N, deep in the auroral zone, and its quiet country setting is a fine place to look for the northern lights on a clear winter night.
