Levin Huippu is a Mountain and Ski Resort and Area at 99130 Sirkka, Finland

Levin Huippu is the summit of Levi fell, the high point above Finland’s busiest ski resort, in Sirkka in the heart of Lapland. It rises to a little over 500 metres. That sounds modest, but this far north the treeline falls away below, leaving a bare, wind-scoured dome of open fell with long views over the surrounding wilderness. A gondola and chairlifts carry skiers up in winter and sightseers in summer, and a restaurant at the top serves the crowds. In the ski season the summit is the launching point for runs fanning down every side of the fell. The height is the draw after dark, too. Levi sits at around 68°N, well inside the auroral zone, and up here, above the resort lights with a clear horizon in every direction, is one of the better places around Levi to watch the northern lights sweep across the sky.

The aurora season here runs from September to March, with the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights in October, February and March. With minimal light pollution, Levin Huippu could offer a dramatic backdrop for aurora viewing.
