Grjótagjá is a small lava cave near Lake Mývatn, holding a pool of startlingly clear, blue geothermal water. Once a popular bathing spot, it grew too hot after nearby eruptions and is now mainly for looking rather than swimming, though the water in its rocky chamber is a beautiful sight. It found fame as a location in the television series Game of Thrones.
