Telegrafbukta is a Park, Scenic Lookout and Beach at Strandvegen, 9013 Tromsø, Norway

Telegrafbukta, known to locals simply as Bukta, is a waterside park and beach at the southern tip of Tromsøya, the island city of Tromsø in northern Norway. It is a favourite escape from the streets. Grassy meadows run down to a pebble-and-sand shore, backed by birch woods, with open views across the sound to the snow-capped mountains of the mainland. In the short summer people swim, picnic and barbecue here through the long bright evenings, and the park hosts the annual Bukta open-air music festival. In winter it is quiet and snow-covered, the paths used by walkers and skiers. Set at the edge of the island, away from the brightest parts of town, Bukta keeps a fairly dark, open horizon. That makes it a well-liked local aurora spot: Tromsø lies at around 70°N deep in the auroral zone, and on clear winter nights the northern lights show over the water and the mountains beyond.
