Ølhallen is a pub on Storgata in central Tromsø, opened in 1928 and reckoned the oldest in the city. It is the taproom of the Mack brewery, whose old premises it sits within, and pours a wide range of beers from Mack and other Norwegian brewers across 72 taps. A plain, old-fashioned room with long tables, it draws a broad mix of locals and visitors of all ages. It sits in the middle of town, a short walk from the harbour.

  • This is the Mekka for beer lovers in Tromsø. With a beer list of around 67 beers on tap, this is as far as I know the bar in Europe With most beers on tap.

  • Buy the beer from "Ølhallen". They are the local beer, brewed in the back of the bar. You can ask for a guided tour of the micro-brewery.
