Mikkeller Tórshavn is the Faroese outpost of the Danish craft brewery, on Gongin in the old part of the capital. It occupies a four-hundred-year-old wooden house tucked into the historic lanes, with fjords close by and sheep wandering freely nearby. Sixteen taps pour Mikkeller's own beers alongside brews from friends elsewhere, most of which, this being the middle of the North Atlantic, have travelled a very long way to get here. The brewery has a knack for finding out-of-the-way spots, and it counts this snug hideaway among the most singular of all its bars.

Mikkeller is a safe bet. The location is central, the interior feels like a Nordic bierhouse with a contemporary twist. Fun games to borrow and play. The only downside is the slightly arrogant staff.
