Kallur Lighthouse
Kallur Lighthouse is a Lighthouse in Trøllanes, Faroe Islands
Kallur Lighthouse stands white and red on the northern tip of Kalsoy, a long, narrow island in the north of the Faroes. Built in 1927, it is reached on foot from the tiny village of Trøllanes, itself connected to the rest of the island only by a string of single-lane mountain tunnels. The walk out follows a grassy ridge above sheer sea cliffs to the little tower, where the view opens across the sound to the neighbouring islands of Kunoy, Eysturoy and Viðoy. It is one of the most photographed spots in the country, and it stood in for a windswept clifftop in the James Bond film No Time to Die. The Faroes lie at around 62°N, within reach of the aurora, and on a clear, dark night far from any village light the headland gives an unforgettable outlook over the Atlantic for the northern lights.
