Kaffihúsið is a coffee house on Bryggjubakki, right on the waterfront of downtown Tórshavn. It runs its own French-inspired patisserie, turning out gourmet cakes, macarons and pastries from good ingredients, and the barista coffee is organic and fair-trade. Large picture windows look out over the marina, or you can take a seat outside, making it a fine place to watch the boats over cake and a cup of something.

Aurora hunting in Tórshavn?
The aurora season here runs from October to March, with the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights in November and February. Kaffihúsið is a cosy spot to warm up between aurora viewing sessions.
