Sky Lagoon is a geothermal spa on the coast just south of Reykjavík, where a large infinity-edge lagoon of warm water seems to spill straight into the North Atlantic. Bathers soak with sweeping views over the sea and, on a clear day, the mountains beyond, and a seven-step ritual of sauna, cold plunge and scrub completes the experience. Turf-roofed buildings give it a nod to old Icelandic tradition, and on a dark winter evening the aurora can appear over the water.

  • I still dream about this place, months later. Pure perfection. We did the 7-step ritual, but the lagoon alone is also great. We heard from multiple people it was better than Blue, too.
