Restaurant Kjøkkenet is a restaurant on the islet of Lamholmen in Svolvær, part of the Anker Brygge quayside in Lofoten. It is fitted out like an old home kitchen, with a fireplace and a homely feel, and serves traditional northern Norwegian dishes. It was an early champion of boknafisk, the semi-dried cod once thought of as everyday fare in the North, along with rhubarb, both now common on menus across the region. The dining room seats around 42, so booking ahead is wise. Out on the water at the edge of Svolvær, it looks over the harbour toward the mountains, an easy place to end a winter evening spent watching for the northern lights.

  • Cosy surroundings, just like at your Norwegian grandma's. The waiter is nice. The price is very high, and could have expected more for the food. 1200NOK. 2 glass wine, 2 main, 2dessert, 1 coffee.
