Lysstøperiet is a candle workshop, café and bakery in the old fishing village of Henningsvær, on the island of Austvågøya in Lofoten. Its name means the candle foundry, and hand-poured candles are made and sold here, but it is as well known locally for its coffee and baking. The cinnamon buns and cakes are the draw for many who stop in. It is a warm place to shelter from the weather, and an easy pause on a winter day before the light fades and the northern lights come out over the village.

  • Cutest place on the island, a real gem. Grab a seat at one of the mismatching tables and warm up on a hot chocolate. You should try some fresh pastries, and buy some candles to bring home.
