Patricia Lake lies in the hills just northwest of Jasper town, beneath the reddish bulk of Pyramid Mountain. A quiet, pretty lake popular for canoeing, walking and fishing, it was also the unlikely site of a secret wartime project to build an aircraft carrier out of ice. Peaceful and close to town, it is a lovely spot to while away an afternoon.
