Kangiata Illorsua, the Icefjord Centre, is a striking modern building on the edge of Ilulissat, overlooking the UNESCO-listed icefjord. Its swooping, wing-shaped form was designed to sit lightly on the tundra, and inside, exhibitions tell the story of the ice, the climate and the people who have lived alongside the fjord for thousands of years. A rooftop walkway and trails lead out toward the ice itself, making it the natural place to begin a visit to the fjord.
