The Kangia trails lead from the edge of Ilulissat out to the UNESCO-listed icefjord, giving the finest views of the ice on foot. Marked routes cross the rocky, treeless tundra to the shore, where icebergs the size of hills lie grounded and groaning. The boardwalk and paths make the wonder accessible to most walkers, past ancient Inuit settlement sites along the way. Out here, away from the town, the dark night sky gives a superb outlook for the aurora over the ice.
