UNO Café is a café on Markedsgata in central Alta, opened in June 2012 by Kenneth Svendsen and Wenche U. Ånetsen. It is the largest alcohol-free restaurant in the town and remains wholly locally owned. The kitchen prides itself on honest, unfussy cooking for all ages, with most dishes made from scratch using fresh ingredients. The menu is broad and takes care to include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, but the café is best known around Alta for its burgers, all of them made in house.
