Peppes Pizza - Alta is the local branch of Norway's best-known pizza chain, on Markedsgata in the town centre. The chain was founded in Oslo in 1970 by Louis Jordan and his Norwegian wife Anne, who brought American-style pizza to the country for the first time, and it has since grown to close to ninety restaurants nationwide. This far north it makes a dependable stop for the familiar menu of generous American pizzas, alongside burgers and other staples. Servings run large, enough to share, and there is takeaway and delivery for those heading back out under the Finnmark sky.
