Millennium Trail is a Hiking Trail at Yukon River (Robert Campbell Bridge to Rotary Centennial Bridge), Whitehorse YT, Canada

The Millennium Trail is a paved riverside loop through the heart of Whitehorse, in Canada’s Yukon. It runs about five kilometres along both banks of the Yukon River, crossing on the Robert Campbell Bridge at one end and the Rotary Centennial footbridge at the other. Flat and easy, it is a favourite of walkers, runners, cyclists and, once the snow falls, skiers and fat bikers. The route strings together many of the city’s riverfront landmarks, among them the beached sternwheeler S.S. Klondike, with interpretive signs, benches and viewpoints along the way. It is the kind of stroll you can do in an hour or linger over for an afternoon. Whitehorse lies at around 61°N, close beneath the auroral oval and one of the more reliable aurora regions in North America. City lights take the edge off, but the open darker stretches along the water still give a fair chance of the northern lights over the river on a clear winter night.
