From here a gentle loop follows the clear Savage River between rocky slopes, an easy and beautiful walk with a good chance of spotting Dall sheep and other wildlife. It is also the start of the steeper Savage Alpine Trail, making it a popular jumping-off point for exploring this part of the park.
