Braset Lookout is a roadside viewpoint near Bodø, in Nordland in northern Norway, on the Fv17 coastal highway. The Fv17, the Kystriksveien, is one of the great scenic drives in the country, winding along the fjords and islands of the Nordland coast. This rest stop along the Holandsfjord is the perfect place to admire Engabreen (or Engenbreen), a branch of the Svartisen Glacier. From the lookout the view opens across water and skerries to the mountains beyond, the kind of sweeping coastal panorama the route is famous for, and it makes an easy stop with room to park and stretch. Lying just north of the Arctic Circle at around 67°N, well inside the auroral zone this open coastal spot gives a fine, unobstructed view north, and the northern lights are often seen here shifting over the water.
