Eyjafjörður is a Scenic Lookout in Iceland

Eyjafjörður is the long fjord at the head of which Akureyri sits, the longest in Iceland, reaching far inland from the north coast and ringed by high mountains. Its sheltered waters are known for whale watching, with humpbacks and other whales feeding in the fjord, and the surrounding slopes and farmland make a grand backdrop to the town. At around 66°N, close to the Arctic Circle, the fjord and its mountains give a fine setting for the northern lights on a clear winter night.
