Thanh Thanh Oriental Noodle House is a family-run Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Edmonton, opened by a husband and wife in 1986 with no investors and no grand plan, just family recipes brought from Vietnam, a handful of tables and a commitment to care. Four decades on, the same couple still cook in the kitchen each day. The pho is simmered for hours, the imperial rolls are hand-rolled every morning and the sauces are made from scratch. The city around it has changed, but the food and traditions have stayed the same, which is why it has kept such a loyal following over the years.
